Long before the franchise became known for the MMO, the Warcraft series started out as a series of real-time strategy games. The original game was a hit, following the conventions of the then relatively new genre, but Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness upped the ante in that golden age where a sequel could follow a year later and be radically improved.
In Warcraft II you choose a side, Orcs or Humans, and collect resources to build an army to destroy the other side. The game introduced several mechanics and interface decisions that would become standard conventions.
Note that the source ports featured here need the original versions of the game, not the later Remastered versions.
